#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?

Oh yes. I'm a full time elementary teacher but I also consider myself a full-time writer as

well. I write weekends and holidays. I also do a lot of writing for the education sector. I'd
love to be able to write full-time but being a teacher does help with ideas and creativity.

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?

The discipline of sitting down in the weekends and holidays and actually writing -

particularly when the sun is shining and my wife and son have gone to the beach. I
missed most of last summer. It's too hard to write outside - too many distractions and just
a bit too bright. Actually setting a target of 4k per day and sticking to it. Sometimes you'll
reach 2k and think 'I'm tapped out. I should stop.' Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that.
You have to keep going.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of

Your Family?

I've got loads of supportive friends so it's very difficult to single anyone out in particular.

Probably Jill Marshall - the original publisher of the first two books in the Rapture
trilogy.

#4 – What is next for your writing?

Over the last two years, I've written 3 novels, 2 education textbooks as well as several

articles, short stories and shorter chapter books. Feeling a little exhausted. I've got lots of
ideas but I might take it easy this year. I have Apocalypse - the final book in the Rapture
trilogy - to release. I've also got some education books to write so I'll probably finish my
next YA novel in 2014.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently

reading?

Most definitely. Have always been a passionate reader. My favorite thing to do is to read

whilst listening to rain on a tin roof, tucked up in bed. At the moment, I'm reading the
Lord of the Rings for the 10th time. Just finished reading the Hobbit again after seeing
the movie and it re-kindled my desire to read the all Tolkien's books again.

times, a half demon-teenage boy must choose between Heaven and Hell.

Scheduling: Pain and Gain by Marc Schiller

Memoir/True Crime
Date Published: 1/25/13

Pain and Gain – The Untold True Story’ is a gripping memoir that tells the true story behind the Paramount film Pain and Gain. Written by the real Sun Gym Gang victim, Marc Schiller, ‘Pain and Gain – The Untold True Story’ will take readers on an adrenaline rush with a shocking ending.

This is the untold true story of one citizen’s pointless torture and month-long captivity. The story, formerly mistold if not utterly overlooked, has been made into a feature film. Even as a dark comedy, there is little amusement to be found in human suffering. The sick and twisted minds of Mr. Schiller’s captors would be fodder for the Darwin Awards if the results were not so alarmingly inhumane. Physical, mental and emotional torture, as well as sensory deprivation and starvation, the prisoner of war like conditions differed only in the fact that Mr. Schiller was completely alone during his extended stay at the warehouse he refers to as Hotel Hell. An early victim of identity theft in the years following Hurricane Andrew in Miami, Mr. Schiller chronicles his story in tortuous detail. His humiliation, pain and suffering at the hands of these perverted social misfits is a shocking revelation.
What is it like to be imprisoned in near dungeon-like conditions? All this mayhem on American soil toward the end of the last millennium.
Greed, lust for power and the desire to inflict pain and misery were the apparent motivating forces behind this gruesome incident.
Truly a harrowing tale and one that you won’t soon forget.

Tour Kick Off - At First Touch by Mattie Dunman

Young Adult Paranormal
Date Published: 5/28/12

Liz Hannigan has been on the run since she was twelve years old.
Her mother is dead. Her father has lost his job. And thanks to an experimental procedure, Liz is now able to ‘download’ the contents of every brain around her with a simple touch. Forced to hide from both the federal government and a darkling group of morally deficient scientists known as the Coalition determined to exploit her abilities, she moves with her father to the bucolic coal town of Pound, West Virginia.
But the hunt for Liz and her abilities hasn’t ended, and her hopes for peace are shattered when she inadvertently downloads the enigmatic Carey Drake, whose unusual good looks and charm conceal a secret as shocking as her own. Stunned by the knowledge that she has found someone else who has extraordinary abilities, Liz finds herself drawn to Carey, discovering a deep attraction, and dares to hope for the first time she might find love.
But when an agent of the Coalition begins stalking her, Liz must find a way to work with the government agency she most mistrusts as she strives to build a longed-for normal life and take down the agent who has tracked her down. Caught up in a struggle to save herself and those she loves, the girl who sees all is blind to true danger until it is too late.

Mattie Dunman is a lifelong resident of "Wild & Wonderful" West Virginia, and has dreamed of being a writer since she first held a pen in hand.
Mattie has pursued several useless degrees to support this dream, and presently enjoys teaching (or tormenting, as the case may be) college students the dying art of public speaking. She spends most of her free time writing, but also indulges in reading and traveling.
She is the proud owner of an adorably insane American Eskimo named Finn, and a tyrant cat named Bella, who take up more of her attention than they probably should.
Mattie is currently working on the second book in the First Touch series, and is ecstatic about her new release, At First Touch.

Tour Kick Off - Meet and Greet - Your Guardian Angel by Skyla Madi

Young Adult
Date Published: 12/4/12

For Ruby Moore life is far more complicated than that of your average teen, for she is in no way average. Ruby is a vampire and her life as a vampire is far from traditional...

It has been one year since her normal life was brutally taken from her. Still adjusting to the shock of the change from mortal to immortal, her world is rocked again and she is taken under the wings of a guardian angel back to Sage Sanctum, a school beyond reach from the vampires that are determined to destroy her.

There, she is freed from her vampire chains and her normal needs and urges return. However, a new urge arises... Lust. A forbidden lust toward her savior, her guardian angel.

Attempting to control these desires is difficult, very difficult and when things couldn't possibly get any worse, her situation becomes life or death as someone, somewhere in the school is aiding those who want her dead.

Skyla Madi was born in the small town of Port Maquarie, New South Wales in 1993. She spent half her life growing up in Wauchope, a thriving rural town at the heart of the Hastings River Valley before making the leap to the busy city of Brisbane.

Whenever this young Australian writer isn’t changing diapers, watching cartoons, cooking for her husband or doing other motherly-wife things she is actively working on her writing and improving her writing skills.

Skyla loves to read just as much as she loves to write and since discovering that YA/paranormal romance/urban fantasy/ are her favourite genres, she has embarked on her own writing journey and is currently working on a YA series titled ‘Your Guardian Angel’.

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?

Absolutely. I want to write full time forever! But more realistically, when my daughter starts school I want to hold a small retail job and then write in my spare time. That’d be perfect for me—unless of course my writing earns me enough money to just sit and write at home all day!

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?

Description!! I find description so hard to do, but I’m working on it and hopefully it shows in the next few books I write.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?

No, not really and that made the whole process that more difficult. Up until the release of Your Guardian Angel I hated the thought of sharing my writing. I was scared and nervous, but now it is easier and a few friends help me out a little bit.

#4 – What is next for your writing?

More books! I plan on writing so many more books—hopefully in every main fiction genre like; fantasy, adventure etc. As well as writing more, I am constantly trying to improve my writing in every sense. Grammar, description, dialogue, plot—everything!

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently reading?

I am addicted to reading! I appreciate a book that can take me to a whole new world. I just started reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
