Children's Book

Date Published: May 24, 2021

Publisher: MindStir Media

Geno and Vinnie were born on the banks of the Urubamba River between Cusco and Machu Picchu, Peru. This area is known as the Sacred Valley. Geno and Vinnie came to be from different parents, but they became inseparable after birth. They made a promise to travel together to the shores of the U.S. of A. Little did they know that their mothers had made a deal with the owner of the Alejandro Alpaca Ranch to send their children to the land of the free.

The adventures that follow are the travels and experiences of Geno and Vinnie and their search for freedom in America. Their story is perfect as Alpacas are great story tellers.

About the Author

Phil Roberts is an entrepreneur, creative writer, gardener, dog lover and friend of Geno & Vinnie. Having lived in the countryside for 42 years, he loves to gaze at the stars on a warm summer's night. Geno and Vinnie came to share the Country Escape seven years ago and have added to the ambiance of the property's' unique setting. It was Geno and Vinnie that inspired the writing of the Freedom Series books as an expression of the joy that they experienced as they were allowed to run untethered on the property. Freedom is a unique and valuable right to both cherish and embrace as individuals of society. The interactions with animals and their uniqueness with self is a joy to be experienced like no other. Mr. Roberts' vision is to share this through his writings of children's books.

Literary Fiction

Date Published: August 25, 2014

Publisher: OTF Literary, LLC

"THE LION TREES" -- WINNER OF THE KINDLE BOOK AWARD!

What if survival required you to unlearn who you are? How far would you fall to save yourself? Sometimes happiness is a long way down.

The Johns family is unraveling. Hollis, a retired Ohio banker, isolates himself in esoteric hobbies and a dangerous flirtation with a colleague's daughter. Susan, his wife of forty years, risks everything for a second chance at who she might have been. David, their eldest, thrashes to stay afloat as his teaching career capsizes in a storm of accusations over a missing student and the legacy of Christopher Columbus. While Tilly, the black sheep, trades her literary promise for an improbable career as a starlet, and then struggles to define herself amidst a humiliating scandal and the judgment of an uncompromising writer.

By turns comical, suspenseful and poignant, the Johns family is tumbling toward the discovery that sometimes you have to let go of your identity to find out who you are.

Owen Thomas' rollicking debut novel is the winner of 16 international book awards, including: the 2015 Amazon Kindle Book Award for Literary Fiction, the 2015 Global eBook Award for New Adult Fiction, a 2015 Eric Hoffer Book Award, the 2015 'Book of The Year' for BooksAndAuthor.com, Finalist for the 2015 First Horizon Book Award, and placements at the London Book Festival, the New York Book Festival, the Amsterdam Book Festival, and the Beverly Hills International Book Awards.

AN ADVENTURE LIKE NO OTHER.

One part, exotic, jungle setting, one part romance, two parts gripping, heart-pounding suspense

Jake Bennett knew a couple of things for sure: he needed a job, he didn’t want to die in the jungle… but he’d never met anyone like nurse Brockman.

The two clash when Jake discovers that Katherine Brockman’s mission has nothing to do with checking the condition of malaria in native villages.

The possibility of saving tens of thousands of lives unites them as they venture into the steaming jungle to discover if the “Legend of the Riverman” is true.

Soon, the dangers of the jungle wrapped in the unforgiving heat, threatens to end, not only their mission, but their lives.

But nothing can prepare them for what they discover, hidden deep in an unexplored jungle basin.

A new, action-packed, adult adventure

 About the Author

An avid reader as a youngster, Daniel began a teaching career at twenty, peppering his life with trail rides on his horse Kelly, scuba diving in the murky Great Lakes of Ontario and taking fencing lessons.

He married Lynda, five months after they met in a bar on a Thursday night. With her, he raised a family, wrote and produced school plays, built their log home, restored a classic Mustang, a '69 Mach 1 for enthusiasts, and took their three boys on many canoe trips in northern Canada.

Twenty years later, unable to find a science fantasy adventure he liked, with encouragement from Lynda, he wrote The Reedsmith of Zendar. Expedition Borneo is his sixth novel.

His books are varied, but whether suspense, a thriller, or an adventure story, all contain characters in trouble that you will care about and root for. He's never perfect and neither is she, but the attraction is inevitable as they learn about each other on an adventure seldom of their choosing.
