Tour Kick Off - Meet and Greet - Swamp Monster Masacre by Hunter Shea

Today is the Kick Off of the Swamp Monster Massacre Virtual book Tour!

Horror
Date Published: 10/2/12

The swamp belongs to them. Humans are only prey.
Deep in the overgrown swamps of Florida, where humans rarely dare to enter, lives a race of creatures long thought to be only the stuff of legend. They walk upright but are stronger, taller and more brutal than any man. And when a small boat of tourists, held captive by a fleeing criminal, accidentally kills one of the swamp dwellers’ young, the creatures are filled with a terrifyingly human emotion—a merciless lust for vengeance that will paint the trees red with blood.

Reading Addiction Blog Tours MEET and GREET

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career? That’s always been the goal. I’m lucky in that I
have a very good non-writing career, but to be able to make a full time living as a writer
would be a dream come true.

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
Aside from the 15 years I spent in the ‘pits’ working on my craft, learning the business,
trying to make myself heard? I truly enjoy every aspect of the writing process, even
the revision process that can go through a dozen or more rounds. In the early going,
finding time was the hardest. My girls were toddlers and needed a lot of my attention
(which I was more than happy to give). I think that it’s even harder now to find as much
time as I need to get everything I want done. Using this week as an example, I’ve been
on a deadline to finish the first draft of a novella, which means I have to get in about
15,000 words. I’m also starting a long short story to support my upcoming novel, as
well as writing blog posts and conducting interviews for my next novel, Swamp Monster
Massacre. It’s insane, but the kind of insane I’ve been striving to be a part of.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of
Your Family?
My good friend Norm Hendricks is the one person who inspired me to start this writing
journey. He’s a writer as well, and I get recharged every time he puts something out.
He’s given me some invaluable pointers along the way. There are things and resources
he showed me early on that have stuck with me and really formed the foundation of
my writing career. OK, enough about Norm. I don’t want his head to get too big to fit
through his front door. LOL!

#4 – What is next for your writing?
Swamp Monster Massacre, my mash-up of a Bigfoot novel and a Quentin Tarantino
movie is out terrorizing the locals. I’ve never had more fun writing a book. Next up is
Sinister Entity in April, 2013. It’s a follow up to my debut novel, Forest of Shadows and
should kick off a new series about a young, brash ghost hunter. I’ll have a free short story
available before Sinister Entity comes out to give everyone a taste of what to expect.
I’m putting the finishing touches on a ghost novella, and I can’t wait to jump into a new
period horror novel. It should be fun and unlike anything you’ve ever seen.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently
reading?
I read about 70 or more books a year, so I guess you could say I have an addiction.
Always have. I firmly believe you can’t be a writer if you’re not a reader. I’m finishing
up Hemingway’s Boat by Paul Hendrickson now, and have The Nightcrawlers by Mick

Ridgewell at the top of my to-read pile.

This or That?

#1 - iPd or Mp3? iPod, all the way.

#2 – Chocolate or Vanilla? Call me Mr. Bland. Vanilla. Though my favorite is the Grape
Nut ice cream that I get in a small store in Maine.

#3 – Mashed Potatoes or French Fries? Mashed, with lots of butter!

#4 – Comedy or Drama? It depends on my mood. I watch a ton of horror movies, but
every now and then I need a comedy to light up the mood. What does Jerry Springer fall
under?

#5 – Danielle Steel or Nicholas Sparks? Neither, though I respect the careers they’ve
achieved.

#6 – Fantasy or Reality? Fantasy, all the way. Reality is either too dull or depressing.

#7 – Call or Text? I worked for the phone company for 8 years, so I can’t stand the
phone. The scars run deep.

#8 – Public School or Home School? Public school. Kids need to socialize with other
kids, but you also need to be very involved in their education when they come home from
school.

#9 – Coffee or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate on a cold winter day.

#10 – eBook or Paperback? I have a Kindle, but man, nothing beats the feel of a new
book.
