Ya Dystopian
Date Published: 12/1/2011

The Rapture has occurred - the end of the world. The faithful have risen up to Heaven.
Those left behind are in a living hell. Armed only with his swords and his wit, a teenage boy
wanders this post-apocalyptic world alone, separated forever from everyone he loves. Cursed
by his demonic heritage, he must now embark on a quest that will take him across the US to
the City of Angels.

Reading Addiction Blog Tours MEET and GREET

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?

Oh yes. I'm a full time elementary teacher but I also consider myself a full-time writer as

well. I write weekends and holidays. I also do a lot of writing for the education sector. I'd
love to be able to write full-time but being a teacher does help with ideas and creativity.

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?

The discipline of sitting down in the weekends and holidays and actually writing -

particularly when the sun is shining and my wife and son have gone to the beach. I
missed most of last summer. It's too hard to write outside - too many distractions and just
a bit too bright. Actually setting a target of 4k per day and sticking to it. Sometimes you'll
reach 2k and think 'I'm tapped out. I should stop.' Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that.
You have to keep going.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of

Your Family?

I've got loads of supportive friends so it's very difficult to single anyone out in particular.

Probably Jill Marshall - the original publisher of the first two books in the Rapture
trilogy.

#4 – What is next for your writing?

Over the last two years, I've written 3 novels, 2 education textbooks as well as several

articles, short stories and shorter chapter books. Feeling a little exhausted. I've got lots of
ideas but I might take it easy this year. I have Apocalypse - the final book in the Rapture
trilogy - to release. I've also got some education books to write so I'll probably finish my
next YA novel in 2014.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently

reading?

Most definitely. Have always been a passionate reader. My favorite thing to do is to read

whilst listening to rain on a tin roof, tucked up in bed. At the moment, I'm reading the
Lord of the Rings for the 10th time. Just finished reading the Hobbit again after seeing
the movie and it re-kindled my desire to read the all Tolkien's books again.
