Tour Kick Off - The Space Between by Kristie Cook

New Adult Paranormal Romance
Date to be Published: 4/5/2013

When Life Falls to Pieces, Answers Lie in the Space Between

After a month-long dance tour through Italy, 20-year-old Leni Drago returns to Georgia to care for her great-uncle, only to find him gone, the home they shared empty and any evidence he ever existed wiped out. All that’s left is a journal she can’t open.

Jeric Winters has been searching for a piece of his past for over a year, only to reach a dead-end in Georgia. When an urgent and magnetic pull draws him out of his hotel room, he comes face-to-face with the beautiful dancer who’s been haunting his dreams day and night.

Jeric’s one to stay away from—a bad-boy, hit-it-and-quit-it type —but Leni can’t escape the fervent feelings between them. As their own existences begin to crumble around them and shadowy forms that are more monsters than men attack, they realize there’s more to the connection between them than physical fascination.

To solve the riddle their lives have become, they must embark on a journey that requires them to face their pasts and release their true souls. And they must do it fast—dark ones from another world are closing in, intent on killing them. Permanently.

Reading Addiction Blog Tours MEET and GREET

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?
It’s the best career. Ever. It’s my full-time job and then some, and more than any career I’ve ever had in terms of work and rewards. Although I don’t love every single minute of it and it is a lot of hard work, ever since I’ve been doing this full-time, I’ve not once said, “I hate my job.” I don’t see myself ever retiring from it, unless health reasons make it impossible to put my stories into words. It’s not just a career. It’s a lifestyle. My passion.

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
Probably the hardest part of writing The Space Between was allowing myself to write it. I’d had the concept since October 2011 and started it early 2012, but had to put it aside to work on the next Soul Savers book. I kept putting it off until my brain wouldn’t let me anymore—it was all I could think about. Once I started, the process was unnervingly smooth. I started from scratch for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November and five months later, it’s published! And that includes taking all of December off. This book wanted to be written.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?
So. Many. I can’t name just one, although there’s my business partner/publisher, Chrissi, who is my alpha and beta reader, business manager, idea-bouncer-offer, shoulder to cry on, ear to whine in, kicker in the butt, cheerleader and drill captain, etc. There’s also Kristie’s Crew who all served as betas, and then my critique partners, editor and proofreader… Although drafting and revising can be lonely work, getting a book ready for publication is a team effort. I’m blessed to have an amazing team!

#4 – What is next for your writing?
Soul Savers #5! It has a working title, but I’m not allowed to share it yet. Its release date is June 21, 2013. Then I’ll be working on the next part of The Book of Phoenix.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently reading?
I’m a binge reader. If something grabs me, I read it straight through and pretty much forget there’s a real-life out there. If it’s a series and I’m in love, God help my family, home and work. For that reason, I don’t read as much when I’m under deadline because I’m afraid I’ll get too caught up. I’ll give myself a reward of one book for hitting certain milestones, though. I’m trying to teach myself better self-control. *grin* This week I haven’t been able to read anything, but I have several books waiting for this release so I can dive into them. The hard part is going to be choosing which to read first.

This or That?

#1 - iPd or Mp3? iPd

#2 – Chocolate or Vanilla? Is this a trick question? I’m a writer. Chocolate=Words (when my kids steal my chocolate, they say they’re “borrowing” my words)

#3 – Mashed Potatoes or French Fries? Yes, please.

#4 – Comedy or Drama? That’s too mood-dependent, although I probably watch more drama than comedy.

#5 – Danielle Steel or Nicholas Sparks? Neither. I’ll take J.R. Ward, Karen Marie Moning or Anne Rice, please.

#6 – Fantasy or Reality? Fantasy. I get enough reality in, well, real life.

#7 – Call or Text? Email. Am I difficult or what? lol

#8 – Public School or Home School? Personal choice—mine has been public, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best. Just what worked for us and our circumstances.

#9 – Coffee or Hot Chocolate Coffee

#10 – eBook or Paperback? eBook
