Tour Kick Off: Waiting for Perfect by Kelli Kretzschmar #giveaway

Young Adult Contemporary

Date Published: October 1, 2014

In the wake of an attempted date rape, high school senior Kendra Voss receives hope from two unlikely heroes, who happen to be cousins.

After Nicolás Veneto rescues the popular Kendra Voss at a party, his long-time feelings for her reignite. But the socially awkward Nick can’t ever seem to find the right words to tell her so, and instead, seems to push her away with his persistence in trying to have her press charges against her attacker.

Nick's playboy cousin Sebastian Veneto, however, is a master with the opposite sex and is used to getting what he wants. After unwittingly helping Kendra at her most vulnerable, he discovers that his feelings for her go beyond his usual lust.
Kendra is caught between the two, the elusive artist and his dangerous cousin, both of whom are pulling her through the difficult aftermath of her near-rape in his own unique way. In the meantime, she tries to avoid the boy who attacked her, deal with rumors at school, and move on with her life.
Waiting for Perfect is a story about facing the unexpected events that force us to grow up and is told through the alternating, memorable voices of Kendra, Nick, and Sebastian.

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?
Yes! That is the goal, anyway. Currently, I have a full-time marketing career. The more I write, the more I want to ONLY write! As more of my novels are written and released, my hope is that I can one day “retire” from my marketing career and write full time.

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
Editing. I hate it. Being self-published, there is a LOT of editing that I’m required to do on my own. I definitely enjoy writing more than editing. I’d like to just write the story and hand it off to a trustworthy editor to pretty it up a bit.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?
My biggest non-family supporter is my friend Leisa. She has always been eager to read and provide feedback for my novels. She encourages me to keep writing and assures me that I am doing what I’m supposed to be doing with this passion of mine.

#4 – What is next for your writing?
I will be releasing the sequel to Waiting for Perfect in the next month. This one will be titled No Fear of Perfection. Also, I am writing the next novel in the Wellton Series. I released Defending Wellton in May of 2013. I have a great fan base in Wellton, AZ, and I held a couple of book signings there last December. I know the great people in that little town are eager for the second novel to be released. The second installment in the series, currently untitled, will follow deputy Trent Buckley as he works a case involving a missing girl. I expect it to be released mid 2015.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently reading? I do have a reading addiction. I find myself cycling through fiction and non-fiction spurts. Currently, I’m in a non-fiction cycle, soaking up everything I can on different perspectives of spirituality. Also, I’m reading Wonder by R.J. Palacio with my ten-year-old son.
