#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?
Oh yes! I write everyday with long term goals in mind. I try
to write 4-5 books a year and have 4-5 new releases per year. I take writing
very seriously but still try to have fun while doing it.
#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
At first it was the rejections. Then, it was reading bad
reviews. Now, I don’t let either get to me. I can’t please everyone all of the
time. All I can do is try to make each book better. I’d say now the synopsis is
the hardest part because I try to write it before I write the book so I have a
plan and I’m not just wandering around.
#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with
Your Writing Outside of Your Family?
My agent, Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. She is
awesome. She likes every book I write, and doesn’t give up on any of them.
She’ll query every publishing house there is until my book finds a home. She’s
taught so much about patience and perseverance.
#4 – What is next for your writing?
I’m working on a new contemporary YA sci fi book titled Earth: Population 2. It’s about the end
of the world!
I’m also writing the sequel to a fantasy romance that I just
contracted through Lyrical Press. Book 1, Minstrel’s
Serenade will come out August 2014.
#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing?
If so, what are you currently reading?
I love to read. I’m currently reading the first book of
George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones. It’s so much darker than what I write,
it’s good for me to read.

Aubrie grew up watching the original Star Wars movies over and over again until she could reenact every scene in her backyard. She also loved The Goonies, Star Trek The Next Generation-favorite character is Data-, and Indiana Jones. But, her all-time favorite movie is The Last Unicorn. She still wonders why the unicorn decided to change back to a unicorn in the end.
Aubrie wrote in her junior high yearbook that she wanted to be "A Concert Flutist" when she grew up. When she made that happen, she decided one career was not enough and embarked as a fantasy, sci fi author. Two careers seems to keep her busy. For now.
Now for the professional bio:
Aubrie Dionne is an author and flutist in New England. Her books have received the highest ratings from Romance Times Magazine, as well as Night Owl Reviews and Two Lips Reviews. Her writings have appeared in Mindflights, Niteblade, Silver Blade, Emerald Tales, Hazard Cat, Moon Drenched Fables, A Fly in Amber, and Aurora Wolf. Her books are published by Astraea Press, Spencer Hill Press, Entangled Publishing, Inkspell Publishing, Lyrical Press, and Gypsy Shadow Publishing. When she's not writing, Aubrie teaches flute and plays in orchestras.
