Kathryn “Ryn” Lowell has escaped the stifling confines of her office at the New York travel magazine she writes for and pulls into Trout Fork, a tiny fishing hamlet in the Colorado Rockies, to write an article about the town. She hasn’t been there long when, out jogging with her orange tabby cat, Jack Kerouac, she discovers a T-shirt in the local creek that belonged to missing waitress. Now foul play is suspected, and Ryn, who has fallen for the quaint mountain town, is determined to find the killer and give her new friends closure. Teaming up with the local police detective, who seems to want more than Ryn can give him, she puts it all on the line—her heart, her job, and her life.

With Jack, her “traveling cat,” secured on her motorcycle, Ryn heads back to her home away from home and the people she has come to care for.

Will Ryn be able to help solve the murder? Can she get her friend out of jail? And what about Detective Garrett Easterbrook? Why isn’t he on the case? Everyone knows something has been bothering him lately, but what can it be? Is there still a spark between him and Ryn? Will it become a flame or peter out?

The Mountaintop Murders is the exciting sequel to Death in Trout Fork.

A Killing in Vail
Ryn Lowell Colorado Mysteries, Book Three
Published: November 2019

Kathryn “Ryn” Lowell is settling into her new job as editor of the Pineland Park Star when she is shocked to read of the sudden death of a dear friend from her childhood. Shot while skiing near the posh town of Vail, Colorado, the young man’s death is ruled an unfortunate hunting accident by the Vail police. But something about the incident just doesn’t add up, and Ryn is determined to find the truth. But asking too many questions can be dangerous. Will Ryn be able to solve yet another murder? Will her “snooping” put her life in danger once again?

What about Garrett? Is he still waiting patiently for Ryn to commit to him? Or is the beautiful new policewoman in his precinct becoming a distraction?

A Killing in Vail is the third book in the exciting Ryn Lowell Colorado Mysteries series

by Dolores Kimball (writing as D. M. O’Byrne)

Jack and I jogged along the trail behind the cabins just before sunrise the next morning. The sky was lightening, but the mountains blocked the sun’s rays, and the path was shrouded in near darkness. Jack trotted along next to me in his harness, his paws making no sound on the soft bed of pine needles that covered the trail surface. We stopped for a breather near the rock I had sat on the previous day, and I noticed Gil about fifty yards away, standing hip deep in the creek in his waders, casting his line upstream and watching it float by. He looked up briefly at me, then he turned away again.

I waited for Jack, who was digging in the dirt next to the trail, no doubt looking for a convenient place for a potty stop. After a few minutes, he was still digging, so I pulled on his leash. “C’mon, Jack. Let’s go.”

But he resisted and continued digging, growling and becoming more and more agitated. I pulled on the leash again, harder this time, but he wouldn’t budge.

I bent over and picked him up. “Okay, if you insist.”

I peered down at the hole he had made. Something didn’t seem quite right. I squatted to get a closer look, the cat squirming in my arms. I gasped and jumped back, lost my balance, and sat down hard. The taste of adrenaline flooded my mouth as I stared at three fingers protruding from the hole, the bright purple nail polish absurdly out of place among the rust-colored pine needles.

 photo zLE15E16_zpsi0gs1kij.jpeg
Real Estate Investments, Buying and Selling Homes
Date Published: November 19, 2019
Publisher: Lucid Books

When Brad Bevers started in real estate fifteen years ago, he wanted to learn as much as possible. But after reading all the real estate books he could find, he quickly realized he needed to ignore the collective wisdom on becoming a successful agent. He would go on to grow his business more than twenty times his average income from his first few years.

If you love making cold calls, smiling like a mannequin, and scream-selling your way to the top, this book is not for you. For those who would rather build a strong business the right way, 'The Mental Game of Real Estate' gives you the map to succeed.

In this book, you will learn:

• The (only) four ways to make money on a property

• Psychological principles that will build rapport fast

• A Negotiation 101 crash course

• The crucial skills to making a killer first impression

• Three closing techniques that won’t make you feel slimy

• And much more

Brad’s goal with this book is to let you in on the principles he has learned so that you can get started faster and serve your clients more effectively, while putting more money in your pocket. May this book help you on your real estate journey!

 photo GqSj1vqb_zpslihwzvyq.jpeg
My name is Bradley Bevers and I’m a real estate broker in Chappell Hill, a small Texas town located midway between Houston and Austin. I’ve sold real estate full-time since I graduated from Texas A&M in 2004.

Despite starting off in the family business, I struggled in real estate for many years. It was hard to know exactly what to do and how to do it, and I did not get off to a fast start. I was able to sell almost three million dollars of real estate my first year, but then the market stalled, and I failed to sell even one million dollars for the next three years. Despite having a business degree and being a born entrepreneur, I made a lot of mistakes along the way and learned mostly through trial and error.

In 2017, I sold over seventeen million dollars of real estate. My income has gone up more than 20 times since those early years. Out of almost thirty agents, I’ve been the top producer in my company for six years in a row. Now, I want to share what I’ve learned so you can get a jump start on your own career.

If you’re looking for a book that will give you the secret sauce to cold calling, social media prowess, or working for-sale-by-owner and expired listings, this book isn’t for you. I’ve never made a cold call in my life, and I post on Facebook once or twice a year. If you want to make more money, build your reputation the right way, and avoid some of the pitfalls of selling real estate, then this is the book you’re looking for.

A Biography of Rock Hudson
Paperback Release Date: December 3, 2019
Publisher: Harper Paperbacks

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

The definitive biography of the deeply complex and widely misunderstood matinee idol of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

The embodiment of romantic masculinity in American film throughout the 50's and 60's, Rock Hudson reigned supreme as the king of Hollywood. As an Oscar-nominated leading man, Hudson won acclaim for his performances in glossy melodramas, adventure epics and blockbuster bedroom farces. Yet behind the suave and commanding star persona, there was an insecure, deeply conflicted and all too vulnerable human being. Growing up poor in Winnetka, Illinois, Hudson was abandoned by his biological father, abused by an alcoholic stepfather and controlled by his domineering mother. Despite seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Hudson was determined to become an actor. After signing with the powerful but predatory agent Henry Willson, the young hopeful was transformed from a clumsy, tongue-tied truck driver into Universal Studios' resident Adonis. In a more conservative era, Hudson's wholesome, straight-arrow screen image was at odds with his closeted homosexuality. Hudson was forever threatened with public exposure, not only by scandal sheets like "Confidential" magazine but by a number of his own partners. For years, Hudson dodged questions about his private life, but in 1985 the public learned that the actor was battling AIDS. The disclosure focused worldwide attention on the epidemic. Drawing on more than a hundred interviews with co-stars, family members, and former companions, "All That Heaven Allows: A Biography of Rock Hudson" finally delivers a complete and nuanced portrait of one of the most fascinating stars in cinema history.
