Date Published: June 27, 2013
Book #2 in The Blemished Trilogy

“You’re part of the vanished now. That’s what we all are. The people who have been forgotten.” Mina Hart fought her way out of Area 14. She made it to The Clans so that she can live a normal life  with her friends and her father. But what she finds is no safe haven. As her best friend turns against her and the Compounders treat her with distrust, Mina begins to  suspect foul play at the very heart of her new home. Just to make matters worse, the threat of war is  coming. The Clans are turning against each other, and Mina is caught in the middle. Join Mina as she is reunited with her father, meets new and surprising friends and tries to figure out  her complicated love life. The Vanished promises even more rebellion and romance with betrayal  just around the corner…

Reading Addiction Blog Tours MEET and GREET

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?

Absolutely!

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?

Plotting. I’m a spontaneous person and once I get that first line pop into my head I want to start writing and not stop until I’m finished. I have to hold myself back, make myself plan out the book and think through the storyline properly.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?

There’s my long-suffering and extremely supportive boyfriend but he’s family really. I’ve tended to get all of my advice from the online writing community over the years and there isn’t really one person who stands out. About a year ago I sent a first draft of The Blemished to a freelance editor and their comments were invaluable. I think they annihilated every single one of my bad writing habits and in the end made me a much better writer.

#4 – What is next for your writing?

Finishing The Blemished trilogy. I’m really excited to write the rest of Mina’s journey. Then I’ll be even more excited to write something new. I have ideas for a YA British Gothic mystery crossover.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently reading?

Yes I do! I’m reading Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I recently finished Beautiful Creatures and loved it. It’s made me want to move to Gatlin and drink sweet tea.

This or That?

#1 - iPd or Mp3?

Can I be contrary and say Spotify?

#2 – Chocolate or Vanilla?

Vanilla

#3 – Mashed Potatoes or French Fries?

French Fries, although we call them ‘chips’ in Britain and they are much nicer.

#4 – Comedy or Drama?

Oh that’s hard! Neither of them work without the other… okay, comedy.

#5 – Danielle Steel or Nicholas Sparks?

Danielle Steel.

#6 – Fantasy or Reality?

Fantasy

#7 – Call or Text?

Text – I hate speaking on the phone.

#8 – Public School or Home School?

In Britain Public School means something different to America – I think it is the equivalent of your Private Schools – and it’s where the really posh people and royalty go. The rest of us slum it at a Comprehensive. Anyway, to answer the question – definitely public school. I think you need that experience in your life, even if it’s a bad one.

#9 – Coffee or Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate. Coffee makes me make this noise – bluergh.

#10 – eBook or Paperback?

I love both! I love the instant gratification that comes with downloading an eBook and I love the feel and smell of a Paperback. This is hard…. I think I’m going to have to go with Paperback. Purely because when I released my own book the Paperback version was the one that I was really looking forward to.
