Tour Kick Off - Meet and Greet - In the Band by Jean Haus

New Adult
Date Published: 10/19/2012

When family problems push Riley Middleton into giving up a percussion scholarship in
another state and attending college from home, her friends push her to try out for a local
rock band. Of course, Riley makes the band. She rules at the drums.

Riley soon finds out rock bands have a different dynamic than marching bands, especially
when each of her male band mates has a major ego and is a major player. Two of them
relentlessly flirt with her. The other—a dark, sexy rock god she can’t help being attracted
to— is a total jerk and pushes her to quit. She becomes determined to ignore his rudeness
and his hotness. Even if she was interested in jerks, a hook up would probably get her
booted out of the ego-ridden band, and playing keeps her sane. Behind the drums, the
world and her family’s troubles evaporate.

If she wants to stay in the band, Riley just has to ignore the growing sparks between her
and her band enemy. But as she gets to know the man behind the stage persona, ignoring
him proves to be more difficult than flowing through a time sig shift.

*New Adult/Mature YA for language and sexual situations.

Reading Addiction Blog Tours MEET and GREET

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?

Since writing has become an addiction to me, I’d have to say definitely.

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?

Each book is different. Sometimes the first draft is difficult. Sometimes pulling it all
together in the editing process is tough. The first draft of In the Band went slow then
quick, actually like lightning, but making sure everything got pulled together was a bit
tough, not so much because of the story, but because of my day to day life.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of
Your Family?

Nope. I’m a family type of gal. And one family member in particular loves to rip my
work apart.

#4 – What is next for your writing?

Right now, I’m writing Justin’s story. He’s the singer from In the Band. And though he
can be super irritating, I’m starting to love his character.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently
reading?

Yup. I’ve been addicted to reading since about the age eleven. I can remember being in
college and my friends going out to party while I stayed home to read. I didn’t always do
that, but yeah if I was into a book, party shmarty.

I finished The Night Circus recently and really liked it even though the romance was
lacking a bit. Next up is Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines. I read the sample to that and
was definitely hooked. I have to wait for the weekend though or I’ll be up to two in the
morning on a workday. I have issues with foregoing sleep for reading.

This or That?

#1 - iPd or Mp3? Neither. If—sometimes I find it distracting—I listen to music while
writing, I just go to You Tube. Otherwise, Music Unlimited is big at my house.

#2 – Chocolate or Vanilla? This one is easy. Definitely chocolate.

#3 – Mashed Potatoes or French Fries? This one is very, very hard. French Fries. No.
Mashed Potatoes. Wait, do the mashed have gravy? What kind of ketchup with the fries?
Can I just say both?

#4 – Comedy or Drama? Movie? Drama. Book? Comedy.

#5 – Danielle Steel or Nicholas Sparks? Huh? I’ve never read either, but I liked the
movie The Notebook.

#6 – Fantasy or Reality? Depends. High fantasy? Give me reality.

#7 – Call or Text? Text.

#8 – Public School or Home School? Public School.

#9 – Coffee or Hot Chocolate? How about a cafĂ© mocha?

#10 – eBook or Paperback? Never thought I’d write this but eBook. I couldn’t live
without my Kindle.
