Tour Kick Off - Meet and Greet - The Colors of Friendship by K.R. Raye

Contemporary / New Adult
Date Published: 8/13/2013

True friendship endures all obstacles...right?

Naïve, romantic Melody Wilkins aims to find true love at college just like her parents. But will she sacrifice her soul to obtain it?

No-nonsense Imani Jordan strives for good grades and a chemical engineering degree. When a friendship offers more, will she follow her head or her heart?

Lance Dunn is only serious about two things: football and protecting his girls, Melody and Imani. When a threat enters their lives and tests their friendship, can he stop it before it kills them?

After the torrents of jealousy, sex, and abuse subside, will their friendship survive...The Colors of Friendship?

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?  Yes, maybe not always a high-paying one, but it’s fun and I’m serious about writing.

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?  The marketing and promoting are actually harder and more time-intensive than the writing process.  If I had to choose something about the writing process, it’s always finding or making the time to write, but you have to make it a priority if you’re serious.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?  It takes a village, so there were many people who read, edited, inspired, and supported me through the writing and marketing process.

#4 – What is next for your writing?  We’re publishing Books Two and Three in The Colors Trilogy in November 2013 and March 2014.  I’m also working on a YA sci-fi trilogy for my boys.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently reading?  Yes, I love to read and I’m currently reading Love in a Carry-On Bag, which is an award-winning novel by Sadeqa Johnson.

DESCRIBE Your Book in 1 Tweet:  The Colors of Friendship is about 3 college friends & what it takes to screw up a friendship!

This or That?

#1 - iPd or Mp3? Mp3, they’re non-proprietary and play on everything

#2 – Chocolate or Vanilla?  Vanilla, although I used to love twists.

#3 – Mashed Potatoes or French Fries?  Do sweet potato fries count?

#4 – Comedy or Drama?  Dramedy!

#5 – Danielle Steel or Nicholas Sparks?  Danielle Steel

#6 – Fantasy or Reality?  Reality’s actually crazier than almost anything people can make up.

#7 – Call or Text?  Text, I worked on the phones in a past career and I still shy away from the phones sometimes.

#8 – Public School or Home School?  Public, the kids need to get out of the house and interact with others.

#9 – Coffee or Hot Chocolate?  Hot Chocolate

#10 – eBook or Paperback?  Paperback, I still love the feel and smell of a real book.
