Tour Kick Off - Meet and Greet - Stepping Up To Love by Katie O'Boyle

Contemporary Romance
Date Published: 8/7/2013
Soul Mate Publishing, Inc., NY

A lakeside porch in the Finger Lakes is the perfect spot for a quiet moment or a heart-to-heart with your special someone. Joel and Manda’s first heart-to-heart on the breakfast porch at the Manse Inn and Spa is anything but romantic. Joel the owner of the Manse is furious with his junior accountant for using one of the spa showers. If Manda didn’t have a desperate story and a spectacular body, Joel might not be feeding her breakfast and falling in love. Can Manda get sober, clean up her act, and open her heart to her rich, hunky boss?

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?
Yes, but this time I’m enjoying every minute! I love growing as a writer, connecting with readers, and supporting other authors. Feels like I have my cake and I’m eating it too J

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
As a rookie author, I had a tough first editor who disagreed with the beliefs that underlay my story. When the dust settled I wrote a blog entry called “Staying true to your book.” I got a lot of support from my writer’s group and critique partners and readers. That kept me moving forward.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?
Wow, just one person? Initially, my teachers encouraged me. Then the editors who wrote thoughtful rejection letters. And friends who read my early books. I have to say, though, that the person who has helped me the most is an author who happens to be a relative.

#4 – What is next for your writing?
I’ve just submitted Book Two for consideration and I’m deep into Book Three of the Lakeside Porches romance books. There are more to come, including a Christmas-theme novella. Also, friends want me to get back to the Nob Tech mysteries that are on the back burner. When I pick them up again, they’ll have strong romantic elements.

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently reading?
Yes, I read at least an hour a day and as much as I can when work doesn’t interfere. On my TBR pile are Alan Bradley, Louise Penny, Debbie Macomber, Sally Goldenbaum, the Class of ’85 books, and various romances from my fellow Soul Mate and Celtic Hearts authors.
