Paranormal Romance
Date Published: September 7, 2015
Abby Reed believes in folk songs, faery tales, and ghosts, but she doesn’t believe in love. Her fiancĂ© died while deployed in Afghanistan, but she still has her music, her crazy ghost-filled town, and her pen-pal-slash-best-friend, Mike Stone. But when Mike arrives in Banshee Creek after his last tour of duty, Abby starts to have doubts, about music, ghosts and, most importantly...love.
A steadfast soldier, Mike Stone follows the rules, and Rule #1 is: Don't Fall For Your Dead Buddy's Fiancée. His relationship with Abby has been strictly platonic, and will remain that way, if he has anything to say about it. But when he arrives in Banshee Creek, a town where the impossible is an everyday occurrence, he'll find out that sometimes rules are meant to be broken.
#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career? Absolutely. It’s a job,
same as any other (well, except for the yoga pants). I see myself as a
professional writer.
#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
Picking a idea. There’s so many plot bunnies, but only a limited amount of
time. I pay attention to what my readers tell me they want. For example, I
didn’t intend to write about the Banshee Creek paranormal investigations team,
PRoVE, but readers love them. I got so many requests for more Caine and Cassie
stories that I created a newsletter-exclusive Ghost Hunters After Dark series.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with
Your Writing Outside of Your Family? So many romance writers and fans helped
me. It’s hard to pick just one. It’s an incredibly supportive community and I’m
proud to be a part of it.
#4 – What is next for your writing? More Banshee Creek. I
will write a couple of more books (there’s a holiday novella, Snowbound with
Ghost, coming up!) in that series before starting on my science fiction small
town romance series (hot aliens, FBI agents, otherworldly sexytimes…did I say
hot aliens?), Crater Lake.
#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing?
If so, what are you currently reading? Nalini Singh, Kresley Cole, and Jill
Shalvis are my favorite authors. I also love Melissa Blue, Amie Stuart, and
Holley Trent. My TBR is epic right now because there’s so many good books out
there. It’s a great time to be a romance reader.
DESCRIBE Your Book in 1 Tweet: Steamy Halloween romance with
a hunky soldier hero and the girl he loves, but can never have...or can he?

This or That?
#1 - iPod or Mp3? IPod. I don’t go anywhere without it.
#2 – Chocolate or Vanilla? Vanilla…with strawberries…and a
biscuit. Okay, it’s strawberry shortcake. My favorite ice cream is strawberry
shortcake.
#3 – Mashed Potatoes or French Fries? I think this question
violates the Geneva Convention. I have to choose just one? Fine, French Fries
it is.
#4 – Comedy or Drama? Comedy. I don’t like sad stories.
That’s why my books always have happy endings.
#5 – Danielle Steel or Nicholas Sparks? Judith Krantz. I
love the over-the-top eighties-style craziness.
#6 – Fantasy or Reality? I’m allergic to reality.
#7 – Call or Text? Text. I’m shy.
#8 – Public School or Home School? Public school.
#9 – Coffee or Hot Chocolate? Hot chocolate.
#10 – eBook or Paperback? Ebook. I still love my paperbacks,
but ebooks are so convenient.
Ani Gonzalez loves sexy stories and quirky towns with spooky houses. She currently lives in Minnesota with her family, and she’s still trying to adjust to the cold.
