Tour Kick Off: Finding the Way Back to Love by @TompkinsFalls #giveaway

Contemporary Romance
Date Published: February 4, 2015

Gwen Forrester, Ph.D., 32, gifted psychotherapist and beautiful widow, is stuck in a rut, dating hotties on the fast track. What she really wants is a life partner who’ll help her raise a family and make a difference in her home town, Tompkins Falls. New in town, Officer Peter Shaughnessy, 30, has recovered from the gunshot wound he suffered in a drug bust in the city of Syracuse, but he’s still smarting from his ex-wife’s betrayal and, before that, the years of abuse from his alcoholic father. It feels like fate to Gwen when her very-pregnant niece Haley trips the security system at Gwen’s lakeside home and Officer Shaughnessy takes the call. By joining forces to help Haley, Peter and Gwen discover they’re a good team. Long, exhilarating canoe trips convince them they’re on the same page with their life goals. Then a destructive squall lands them on the rocks, and a night of stormy passion reveals painful truths that drive them apart. Are they willing to go to any length to find their way back to love?

#1 – Do You See Writing as a Career?
I do, yes. I approach writing with a professional attitude, and I continually challenge myself to grow and put forth my finest work to date.

#2 – What was the Hardest Part of Your Writing Process?
With Finding the Way Back To Love, Haley and Rick’s subplot was so emotionally gripping, it tended to upstage the most important action—Gwen and Peter’s love story. I had to make tough choices in cutting back the scenes around the adoption and completely cutting out one particularly heart-felt scene in which Rick takes a walk with his baby in his arms.

#3 – Did you have any One Person Who Helped You Out with Your Writing Outside of Your Family?
An astute college librarian has been a tremendous help!

#4 – What is next for your writing?
I’m deep into book one of a College Cozy Mystery series set in Tompkins Falls, NY, where my Lakeside Porches romances are set. Tompkins College has its share of intrigue, and Officer Peter Shaughnessy and his buddy Detective Hank Moran (both introduced in Finding the Way Back To Love) are part of the action!

#5 – Do you have an addiction to reading as well as writing? If so, what are you currently reading?
Absolutely! I’m reading College Cozy Mysteries—both those on the market today and many more, going back more than a century; I’m also reading the mysteries nominated for Malice Domestic.
